OneRepublic is an American rock band formed in Colorado. The group gained immediate attention, especially with their first single "Apologize". Initially, the song faced loud and relentless criticism as it was a remix. Many considered the band to be mere imitators of other groups, such as Coldplay. However, the musicians stood their ground and defended their own identity.
Currently, OneRepublic consists of five members: Ryan Tedder on vocals, guitar, and piano; Zach Filkins on guitar and vocals; Eddie Fisher on drums and percussion; Brent Kutzle on vocals, bass guitar, cello, and keyboard; and Drew Brown on guitar.
The history of the band began in the summer of 2006 in Colorado Springs when two friends and classmates, Ryan Tedder and Zach Filkins, decided to form a musical collective. Soon after, Drew Brown, Eddie Fisher, and Tim Meyers (who were already in Los Angeles) joined them. After signing a contract with Columbia Records in the summer of 2005, the group began collaborating with producer Greg Wells.
After several years of working together, Tim Meyers left OneRepublic in 2007 to pursue a solo career. In the same year, the band's debut album was released, featuring the hit song "Apologize". Despite initial critical reception, the song gained popularity and has since received three awards. The debut album has sold three million copies in the United States.
In 2007, OneRepublic was recognized by the UK Official Top 40 Week chart, reaching the third position in the top three. Currently, the tracks of the band are highly appreciated by listeners and numerous fans.
It is no wonder that OneRepublic's participation in the 2008 Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey, where the band will perform their ten best hits, was enthusiastically approved by true connoisseurs of their music.
